Customer screening in banks is primarily driven by compliance requirements like KYC, AML and sanctions regulations. The goal is to ensure that banks are not inadvertently doing business with individuals or entities involved in illegal activities such as money laundering, terrorism financing, or fraud. The principle of "garbage in, garbage out" is particularly relevant in this context—if the data fed into the LLMs is inaccurate and incomplete the results produced by the model will be flawed as well.
