Give to Gain: OpusDatum Celebrates IWD2026

There's a quiet transaction happening every day in the financial services and compliance world - and most people don't talk about it.
Women give their expertise, their networks, their late nights, and their sharp thinking. They give mentorship to those coming up behind them, patience to institutions still catching up, and ideas that quietly shape decisions made by others. What they gain in return has, for too long, been inconsistent at best.
This International Women's Day, the theme #GiveToGain feels less like a slogan and more like a reckoning.
The Honest Version of Give to Gain
The theme works both ways. Yes, individuals can give generously and find that it comes back to them; in relationships, reputation, opportunity. But it also asks something of organisations. What are you giving? And are you giving it before you expect anything back?
At OpusDatum, we try to ask ourselves that honestly. Not just on 8th March.
We work in a world of data, technology, and financial crime compliance. Where credibility is currency, and where women have historically had to spend more of it to earn the same standing. That's changing, but not fast enough and not by accident. It changes when firms make deliberate choices: who gets put forward for opportunities, whose voice gets amplified in a room, who gets sponsored rather than just mentored.
The Women Who Make This Industry Better
We want to take a moment to recognise Elizabeth Travis, our partner and a leader in technology and financial crime compliance, whose career is a masterclass in exactly this philosophy. Elizabeth gives generously of her knowledge, her networks, her time and the ripple effects of that are visible across the clients and communities she's worked with. We're lucky to have her.
We're equally lucky to work alongside brilliant women across our client base, industry networks, and regulatory landscape. In compliance, risk, policy, and technology; their contributions don't just fill roles, they raise the standard of the work itself.
The Organisations Doing the Work
We also want to recognise the groups that create the conditions for women to thrive: Risky Women, Women in Open Banking, Women in Risk & Control, and Women in Tech to name but a few. These communities give connection, visibility, and a sense of belonging in industries that can sometimes feel like they were built for someone else. Their work matters, and we're glad to stand alongside them.
What We're Giving on IWD
We won't dress this up as a manifesto. We'll just say: we are a company that believes the best decisions come from the most diverse rooms. We actively work to make sure the women in our team and networks have what they need to do their best work and be recognised for it. We'll keep at it because the gains from getting this right aren't just good values. They're good business.
Happy International Women's Day to every woman in our world. You make it sharper, kinder, and more interesting.
